A complex claim file can contain between 15 and 200 documents: medical reports, invoices, police reports, photographs, correspondence. Manual data entry costs EUR 5 to 15 per document with a 3-5 per cent error rate. A claims handler spends an average of 45 minutes processing a health claim file with 15 attached documents. GDPR strengthens protection of medical data (Art. 9), requiring traceability in every extraction.
